TDIU Eligibility Calculator
Check if you may be eligible for Total Disability Individual Unemployability (TDIU), which provides 100% compensation if you can't work due to service-connected disabilities.
What is TDIU?
TDIU allows veterans to receive compensation at the 100% rate even if their combined rating is less than 100%, when they cannot maintain substantially gainful employment due to service-connected disabilities.
Schedular Criteria (38 CFR 4.16(a)):
- One disability rated 60% or more, OR
- Combined rating of 70%+ with at least one disability rated 40%+

Key Points About TDIU
To Apply for TDIU
Submit VA Form 21-8940 (Application for Increased Compensation Based on Unemployability) with supporting evidence showing how your disabilities prevent employment.
Important Disclaimer
This calculator shows whether you meet the schedular criteria for TDIU. Meeting these criteria doesn't guarantee approval - you must also demonstrate that your service-connected disabilities prevent you from maintaining substantially gainful employment. TDIU decisions are based on the full evidence of record. Consult with a VSO or VA-accredited attorney for personalized guidance.
